So…the people have spoken and you guys did a bang up job of voting for us for this years “Orlando Weekly BEST OF Orlando” issue! I know that a few weeks ago, I had put a link for voting on our site but I had no idea how active you guys were going to be and boy did it show today when the results were released! Check this shit out:

“Best Local Public Facebook Feed?” Oh yeah…we’ll take it. Personally, I just link that to our Twitter and use it to make sure that you guys know of all the events that we’ve got coming up but that’s quite the honor. And to think, we were almost over Facebook but I guess we’ll keep both pages going for at least another year. 😉 It’s awesome to see Orlando City in there as well. We can’t help but think that we helped with that or at least that’s how we’re going to spin it. Haha…

We didn’t win this category (We have in the past…) but it’s nice to be in the company of some pretty amazing places around the Orlando area that specialize in “Geek-ness.” It’s also pretty damn awesome of the weekly to keep putting our website address in the winning categories  Lord knows, in order to keep our studio running we can use all of the exposure we can get. If you haven’t already, make sure that you check out Geek Easy and The Danger Room. We highly recommend both places!

This is a biggie! We swept this category and at least now we don’t have to hear Ross brag about being the best “Tweeter” in the Greater Orlando area! This garners the question…”Is anyone else out there even Tweeting?” Shit…I think we’ve got to step up our game and make sure we live up to this one. Ross…we’re going to need more Dad jokes, please.

This one is a bit more serious to us because it includes the MASSIVE amount of work that both The Danger Brains and DIVUPS did to get our website where it is now. We planned our site for almost an entire year before we EVER pulled the trigger on it and last year you guys will remember that after I resigned from Real Radio…we had a very short amount of time to roll out our “Big Dick Millionaire” subscription program. If I remember correctly, we gave both The Danger Brains and DIVUPS a little less than a week to get this rolling, get the art, and get the site tested. Both of these amazing companies worked tirelessly to make sure that we were able to keep our studio running. Words can not express how important that was. It was truly a matter of losing the studio (and my house for that matter…) and we can’t thank these guys enough. If you need branding, hit up The Danger Brain Agency. If you need a rad-ass website that functions as it should, hit up DIVUPS! Congrats on the win, you guys!

This one makes me laugh. Jim certainly, in my eyes, deserves this award. He’s been a supporter of “A Mediocre Time” since the beginning and a wonderful friend. With that being said, Johnny Magic is also a hell of an awesome guy and truly deserves this award. BUT…I can’t help but smile to see me scrape in at a very “mediocre” 3^rd place and I’m not even on the radio anymore! As I told my wife this morning, that gives me the biggest “mind-boner” EVER! This is one for the little guy. (Pun intended.)

Now…here’s the “big guy.” Trust me when I tell you that when I read this, I ran around my bedroom a little bit! There’s just something about being the underdog and coming out on top that never gets old. Tom and I have a collective 20-some-odd years of broadcasting between us, and this was the one that I wanted the most. We really do work hard to provide you guys with a great product and events that bring back the fun that we had early on in our broadcasting careers. In a day and age when “the bottom line” is pretty much the boss of most broadcasting, it’s refreshing to win one for the people that haven’t forgotten about the fact that above anything…we are here to provide you with content. This might be a sign that the pendulum is swinging back in favor of fair business and genuine broadcasting content.

You always prove yourselves as the greatest group of listeners, downloaders, BDM subscribers, t-shirt order-ers, beer drinkers, stupid bracelet wearers, and fun loving people that any two guys “playing radio” could EVER ask for.
